Career Exploration and Counseling for K-12!
VCS is offering Career Exploration and Counseling for all students in grades K-12!
Kelsey DePompei will be conducting the counseling and meetings for students in grades 9-12, Kim Kile will be doing grades 6-8, and Sara Jouadi will be the 3-5th grade career counselor.
The purpose of this program is to expose students to several career areas, complete career interest surveys to match them to potential jobs, and allow them to explore these matches while building a career portfolio. This program will help students to set goals and plan their future for after their high school requirements have been met.
Students will each receive their own folder in Google Drive. This folder will be where they can keep their activities for their Career Building Portfolio. In addition to this, they will also have a folder with resources, and get announcements on when meetings will be held. Meetings will be held the second Wednesday of every month, starting in October, in Blackboard. Each month, we will explore a different career field and build their portfolios. Building the portfolio includes information on education planning for the career whether it is a trade school, 2 year college, or 4 year university.
October 12th Meeting Information:
Grades 9 and 10 meet in Blackboard from 10 am-11 am
