Initial Grade Placement
Previous school records will be used to place students. If the student has been home schooled, the parent’s recommendation will be used. Adjustments will be made if evidence presents itself that it would be in the student’s best interest to be placed in a different grade level.
Credits needed for High School Class Promotion
To Sophomore Standing: Completion of 5 Credits
To Junior Standing: Completion of 10 Credits
To Senior Standing: Completion of 16 Credits

90-100 A
80-89 B
70-70 C
60-69 D
00-59 F
Graduation Requirements
To receive a diploma from VCS Ohio, a student must meet the standards adopted by the state of Ohio and the VCS Ohio’s Board of Education. The ultimate responsibility for tracking and completing necessary credits for graduation lies with students and parents.
Pass all sections of the 10th Grade Ohio Graduation Test (OGT)
Earn a minimum of 20 credits requiring successful completion of the following specific credits:
English – 4 Credits
Health – ½ Credit
Mathematics – 3 Credits
Physical Education – ½ Credit
Science – 3 Credits
Required: Biological Science – 1 Credit
Required: Physical Science – 1 Credit
Social Studies – 3 Credits
Required: American History – 1 Credit
Required: American Government – 1 Credit
Electives – 6 Credits
