Job experience can teach students valuable time management and problem solving skills as well as better prepare them for the future.  VCS now offers students that opportunity with the Earn and Learn program.  Through a quality mentoring program, students with the desire to get a job can also make academic progress toward graduation.  Eligible students must be committed to keeping a job as well as complete all Earn and Learn coursework.  The program also includes one-on-one counseling, parent and student online chats, goal-setting activities and employment training, such as resume writing and interviewing skills.  Students who currently have jobs are also encouraged to apply.  For more information or to learn how you can participate, contacy Mrs. Prichard at  jacque.prichard@vcslearn.org or call the VCS Enrollment Department at (866) 501-9473, option 2.

What is Earn and Learn?
A quality mentoring program that allows students to earn a diploma, earn a paycheck and earn elective credits.

Writing a resume
Employability skills
Time management
Dressing for an interview
Problem solving at work
Problem solving at home
Getting a job and keeping it 

To be eligible, students must:
Show a desire to get a job and keep it.
Make academic progress toward graduation.
Display appropriate hygiene skills.
Learn and follow rules specific to work environment.
Complete Earn and Learn coursework.
Agree and sign “Believe in the PACK” document.
