Monitored Social Forums
Every high school student has access to the “Student Lounge.” Here, students can communicate with one another in safe and monitored social forums. A student can either respond to a topic in a current forum or start one of their own! Students can share helpful homework and study skills tips or talk about their favorite TV shows or what they like to do in their free time. For questions about the Student Lounge, contact cathy.kline@vcslearn.org.
VCS Clubs
Just like a traditional school, VCS offers a wide variety of student clubs. Participation is completely voluntarily, and students can participate as much or as little as they want. We offer a club that suites almost any type of interest, from books and photography to American patriotism and spiritual fellowship. For a complete list of clubs, click here. Didn’t find a club that you like? Contact jessica.yeager@vcslearn.org to talk about starting your own club!

Fall and Spring Picnic
Twice a year, VCS holds a school-wide picnic. Once in the fall and then again in the spring, students, families and faculty members gather for an afternoon of fun activities, social interaction and delicious refreshments. In the past, picnic participants have enjoyed a 50-foot climbing wall, an inflatable bounce house, a Spanish lesson as well as, games of kickball, tag and hide-and-go seek! In the spring, prize baskets are also raffled off to a few lucky winners! For more information on an upcoming picnic, contact jill.workman@vcslearn.org. Holiday Craft Events
Every holiday season, the VCS visiting teachers gather their craft supplies and travel around the state. Local students, families and teachers are invited to help VCS celebrate the season at a Holiday Craft Making event near them. Crafts, food and fun are provided for all members of the family! For more information on the holiday craft events, contact Sherry Kuehnle or Linda Lineback at visiting.teachers@vcslearn.org. To view photos from past events, check out the photo gallery!

In the past, students have visited places such as the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, the U.S. Air Force Museum, the Scioto Audubon Park plus many more! Watch for upcoming announcements for more information.
Graduation
At VCS, you can choose to participate in as little or as many social activities as you wish. But there is one event that you do not want to miss… high school graduation! Students work hard for four years, completing their required credits and passing their OGT’s. These hard working students are honored at the VCS Graduation Ceremony. Families, friends, faculty members and board members are all invited to watch graduates walk across the stage, accept their diplomas and begin the journey into their very bright futures. Students will get the opportunity to meet teachers, principals, fellow classmates and get professional photos taken. For information on the VCS graduation ceremony, contact nancy.lee@vcslearn.org.
