VCS Ohio’s curriculum is interactive and flexible.

VCS Ohio’s curriculum is highly-interactive and delivered in a user-friendly digital platform. Students  experience a broad-range of tools within our curriculum, such as digital online textbooks, streaming videos, live lessons and teacher-produced recordings. Teachers utilize SMART Board technology to prepare engaging, interactive lessons for their students. Students are also encouraged to attend live, interactive classroom lessons online through Elluminate. Most live Elluminate sessions are recorded and available for future reference. VCS Ohio’s courses are aligned with Core Academic Standards and uses new, top-notch textbooks from Holt.

Unlike traditional schools, VCS Ohio students have the flexibility to work at their own pace, whether that’s more accelerated or relaxed. Students who are capable of advancing at a quicker pace will be permitted to do so. Students requiring more concentration in a certain area will be provided with additional support and the time needed to fulfill the course objectives.

VCS Ohio offers courses for students in grades K-12. Click here to view the VCS curriculum catalog (PDF), which lists the subjects covered and courses offered for all grade levels. Courses are designed to meet the Core Academic Content Standards. Elementary students study the core subjects of Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. High school students take all of the courses required for graduation and have many elective courses from which to choose. VCS Ohio offers unique elective courses such as African-American History, Web 2.0, P.A.S.S. for teen parents, Earn and Learn for working students, R.E.A.L. for talented and gifted students. The course list expands often as new courses are added. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, just ask, and it could be offered at a later date.
